A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trek the vast nature reserves at the Southern tip of the Americas in the National Park of Torres del Paine in Patagonia. In this exquisite, untouched wilderness, you’ll find unbelievably crisp, clear air and some of the most breathtaking nature you’ve ever seen. We trek the famous W trek for 6 days visiting stunning geological formations with jagged granite peaks, crystalline turquoise lakes, glaciers, fjords, steppes, and wide open spaces.
We will also take a boat trip around the incredible ice formations of Glacier Grey.
The trek is challenging but you'll only have your day pack to carry - there will be amazing porters to carry the rest. The most challenging yet rewarding day of hiking is a 22km/14mi, 9hr day to see the fang-like granite rocks of Towers Base.
During our trek, we will stay in the world's first sustainable geodesic domes at EcoCamp Patagonia (7 nights and 8 days). These charming domes are one of the few accommodations inside the wild nature of the National Park. Designed after the “leave no trace” dwellings of the ancient Kaweskar tribe, you’ll wake to sweeping views of pristine nature. Our lux accommodation option at EcoCamp is the double occupancy Suite dome feature heating, private bathroom and hot shower. You’ll also have the option to enjoy massages and yoga classes on our free day at the lodge.
We’ll also camp for two nights under the milky way in mountain refugees.
Meals are remarkably upscale with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Everything from sauces to chocolate are made on-site by their chefs — it is delicious and satisfying after a long day of trekking.
In the mornings, load up on a scrumptious breakfast buffet before embarking on the day’s adventures and at the end of the day, return to a filling and delicious three-course meal of traditional Chilean and Patagonian dishes. Meals are held in the communal dining dome, where you also fix your daily lunch boxes for excursions, which also features a bar, live music in the evenings.
The vibrant city of Santiago is nestled at the foothills of the andes mountains. Bustling with creativity, beautiful architecture, lively nightlife, museums & galleries, exquisite cuisine and markets, Santiago offers a lot to explore. We’ll relax in cafes on the bohemian streets where Neruda strolled, sip Pisco sours as we meet our fellow travelers in a hidden garden patio, and watch the sunset from the hilltop overlooking the beautifully-architectural city landscape.
We'll have our welcome dinner over conversations and local wine while we enjoy an amazingly curated Chilean Mapuche cuisine. Sleep will be sweet in your hip boutique hotel accommodations. Enjoy markets, museums, cooking classes … or relax and explore the city solo. There are options to join the group and options to chill on your own and wander.
The last days of our trip will take us to the rich central valleys and famous Chilean vineyards for wine tastings. We’ll also explore the costal city of Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as “the jewel of the pacific”. It is famous for its amazing murals and vibrantly-colored buildings, buzzing art scene, and bohemian atmosphere. We’ll take stunning views of the Southern Pacific Ocean from the top of it’s hilly streets.
Welcome to Santiago, Chile! The first few days we will be “landing” and taking in the city. We will learn about the history, politics, food of this diverse country through the lens of a local.
